2010 Cabernet Sauvignon

Winegrowing Information

2010 was a long, cool vintage resulting in extended hang time for the grapes. The temperate weather allowed for slow, measured development of flavors and tannins; yielding balanced, structured, complex wines. Our harvest extended over a three week period where we carefully hand-picked each block at optimal ripeness.

Tasting Notes

Our 2010 is a classic example of mountain grown Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine explodes with ripe blackberry, crème de cassis, graphite and floral notes. The concentrated palate offers flavors of fresh currants, plum, dark chocolate and anise. The bright acidity gives this wine a firm structure. The sweet tannins are gripping, yet supple, and integrate seamlessly throughout the long, elegant finish.

Accolades

“I am totally enthralled by Kamen’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, without question the most elegant wine I have tasted from this site on the hills outside Napa. Veins of chiseled, precise fruit come alive in the glass. Hints of dark red and black fruits lead to all sorts of flowers in a Cabernet Sauvignon that impresses for its total sense of elegance and polish. There is a lot to look forward to here. Anticipated maturity: 2015–2025.” —Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, Issue #206
