Winegrowing Information

2016 turned out to be the last of the drought vintages that started with 2013. We received spring rains that gave our vines controlled vigor. Early bud break brought early bloom and an early harvest. There were no extended heat spikes in this vintage. Perfect weather during harvest gave the wine flavors that are intense and supple along with abundant aromatics.

Eisele Vineyard cuttings of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musqué were introduced to our vineyard in 2008. The exceptional soil drainage on Kamen Estate and fractured volcanic rock without ceilings of ash create the perfect spot for growing these varietals.

Tasting Notes

This Sauvignon Blanc is racy and vivacious! Heady aromas of guava, passionfruit, pomelo, pineapple, lychee, freshly cut golden delicious apples, star fruit, key lime pie and kaffir lime blossom swirl around a core of minerality. The palate is clean and generous adding flavors of white nectarine, freshly picked peaches and crushed quartz. The palate is lively and generous and the finish long and crisp.
